I was up early as usual, reading and sipping my coffee. I heard my husband’s alarm go off. A few minutes later he shuffled through the living room. “Morning came early,” he mumbled as he dragged himself up the stairs to shower.
I had to laugh. Yes, Monday is the hardest day of the week for most. The harsh reality of the working world, after a couple of days off.
Not a morning person? Wish it were still the weekend? Me too. Now don’t get me wrong, I love my job. I even like getting up early. It’s just that whole Monday thing.
I’m going to sneak a few verses in before you’re awake enough to realize what’s happening. After all, who is the best one to turn to for all of our needs? I love this one:
“In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.” Psalm 5:3 (NIV) Wait in expectation.
Need some guidance?
“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.” Psalm 143:8 (NIV)
Need a laugh? How about this prayer:
And that’s what I have for you this Monday. Make it a good one!

Thanks Carolyn! Right on point as usual. Have a blessed week!
Happy Monday… Thank you Carolyn:)
You too, and thank you for reading.
Thank you, Cindy.
Amen and well said! I’m a teacher and this is so true! Devos in the morning help me for sure, especially on Monday.
Yes, the day goes so much better when we start it in the Word.
