I’ve Been Published!

I’m excited to announce that I was chosen as one of the contributors in the newest release by Chicken Soup For The Soul, The Magic Of Cats.

A while back, I acquired an older version of one of their cat books at a local book fair.  It sat for some time, as I’d bought a few too many books that day. No surprise there to anyone who knows me well. One night I was looking for some light reading and picked it up. As I read a few of the stories, I couldn’t help but smile. I made it a habit to read two or three a night until I was finished the book. I totally enjoyed it.

I knew the books were stories by contributors and decided to see what offerings they had for writers. When I saw there was a new book about cats coming out in the future, I decided to give it a shot. After all, I’ve had cats in my life for as long as I can remember. There was one story in particular that stood out in my mind.

The problem was, the deadline was two days away! Still, I figured I had nothing to lose. I typed it up one day, edited it the next and sent it off. To be honest, my own story made me smile. I was hopeful that it would make the editor smile too.

And the rest is now history. I’m told there are thousands of submissions for each book title, so it was an honor to be chosen.

My copies arrived in the mail a few weeks ago. It wasn’t as thrilling as I thought it would be, because of all that is going on in the world. The coronavirus is adding stress, there is so much conflict in our country and world, etc. But then when I thought about it, what better time for a book like this? It’s full of heartwarming stories. Some will make you smile, others may draw a tear along with that smile, and others may make you laugh out loud. One thing is for sure, you will feel peaceful and calm as you read them. Such a sweet summer read.

So that’s it.  I do hope you’ll purchase this book for yourself. And don’t forget to look for me in there!
