Thoughts On Easter

Over the years, I’ve been known by different last names at different times. Yes, I’ve been married more than once. I messed up, made some bad decisions, followed by more bad decisions. But like the woman who was about to be stoned, I hear Jesus say, “Go, and sin no more.”

He paid the price for my mistakes, allowing me to have access to the kingdom of heaven. I don’t deserve the kingdom. He didn’t deserve the cross. Yet by his stripes I am healed. My part? To accept his sacrifice and be made whole by it.

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20, NIV)

One blessed woman I am and yes, I will spend my life serving him, the one who gave himself for me.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.  You are my friends if you do what I command.” (“John 15:13,14, NIV)

Wow. Jesus, son of God, offers me friendship.

Know this: whatever you have done in your past, no matter how bad it is, Jesus has you covered by his blood. Don’t negate the power of the cross. Don’t squander Jesus’ sacrifice. Your past bad decisions no longer matter if you make the best one now.

Choose Jesus. Choose forgiveness. Choose life, for all eternity.

Happy Easter, my friends.
