Warm Thoughts On A Snowy Day

Snow! I love waking up while it’s still coming down. It’s just so beautiful. Here are some thoughts for you to ponder.

Each snowflake is unique. No two are exactly alike. Hard to believe isn’t it? Some may be similar, but not identical. They evolve from the same matter but in the process of forming become different. An amazing thing.

Likewise, no two people are exactly alike. Not even identical twins. Even if you can’t tell
them apart, their fingerprints are still different. Crazy, but true. As of 2018, the earth’s population was estimated to be over 7 1/2 billion, yet we are each unique. How is that even possible? That’s a lot of variations of fingerprints as well as variations in appearance and temperament.

Like a beautiful snowflake, you are a one and only. You have qualities, attributes and a personality all your own. Nobody on earth is quite like you. Created for a purpose. One that no one else here on earth can fulfill.

“For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.”  (Psalm 139:13-16, NIV)

What will you do with the you that you are?

As the year progresses, whether you made resolutions, or chose one word, my hope is that you’ll celebrate who you are. Don’t focus on what you perceive to be wrong with you, but strive forward for positive change, knowing you are uniquely created, and uniquely loved by God.

Enjoy the snow, enjoy the day, be blessed this year.

Love, Carolyn

  1. Beautiful thoughts. Years ago I read about a woman who didn’t have any particular faith, but when she contemplated the uniqueness of each snowflake she said, “How can you not believe?” I will continue to believe in my uniqueness and let the Lord lead me there.
